N.D. House Move Could Ban Abortion
CBNNews.com - North Dakota lawmakers have approved a measure that would give fertilized human eggs the same legal rights as human beings, a step that could essentially ban abortion in the state.
The bill says that "any organism with the genome of homo sapiens" is a person protected by rights granted by the North Dakota Constitution and state laws.
"This is very simply defining when life begins, and giving that life some protections under our Constitution - the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness."
The bill also requires abortion practitioners to inform women that abortion kills a human being and that human life begins at the point of conception.
Representatives voted 51-41 to approve the measure Tuesday. It now moves to the North Dakota Senate.
Meanwhile, an Oklahoma House committee has cleared a measure to prohibit physicians from performing abortions solely on on the basis of a baby's gender.

Thats so horrible that they could ban abortion. Sigh...People just don't realize that they are giving the government control of their body. To have a government tell me i HAVE to carry a child to term! It should be my decision. Jinx!
I'm in total support of making abortion illegal. My belief is that life begins at conception which in my mind puts abortion on the same level as murder.
I think people today do not take responsibility for their actions & abortion is just another way people try to escape.
I do understand women having an abortion in the case that having the child would cause them to die, but I feel that is the only case in which abortion would be appropriate.
Thanks for sharing your opinion, though. :)
