Cheers & Jeers: Copenhagen

Cheers to China & India for walking out on this Copenhagen "Climate Change" fiasco.

Jeers to Pres. Obama's typical egocentric speech at the same "conference."

Crapcare brought to you by your local Congressman

Well, a healthcare bill has been proposed by the Senate & Obama is sure to sign this text book case of government usurpation.

For one thing, when a Democrat or our President says that this bill will not cover illegal aliens or cover abortion, in the words of Rep. Joe Wilson...the lie! If this bill wasn't going to cover those two cases then why did every amendment that a Republican brought forth to restrict them get voted down every time?

Second, this new bill is going to cut Medicare & increase Medicade. Those who already have insurance, rather provided by their job or purchased personally will notice an increase in the cost.

Medical devices, such as stents, hip replacement hardware, pacemakers, etc... will have a significant taxation. If the insurance you have does not follow exactly what the government is mandating, you will be fined. For example, if your insurance doesn't cover drug or alcohol counseling, you will be fined. Drug & alcohol counseling may sound nice but if you are like me & don't do drugs & may have 5-6 drinks a year, why should I pay extra for such a service?

Government has no business sticking their nose in healthcare. The reform we need for healthcare is for the government to get out of it.

Politics/Great Video: Obama wins 2009 Nobel Peace Prize

Politics: I think I may be sick...literally.

For what?!

For "his extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples."

According to Breitbart.com,
"The Nobel committee praised Obama's creation of "a new climate in
international politics" and said he had returned multilateral diplomacy and
institutions like the U.N. to the center of the world stage."

"Only very rarely has a person to the same extent as Obama
captured the world's attention and given its people hope for a better
future," Thorbjoern Jagland, chairman of the Nobel Committee said. "In the
past year Obama has been a key person for important initiatives in the U.N.
for nuclear disarmament and to set a completely new agenda for the Muslim
world and East-West relations."
Disregarding the complete farce of "climate change," Pres. Obama has done nothing but make this a more dangerous place to live...well, that is, if you are a Christian & don't want to be told how to run your life) by alienating our allies, cozying up to our enemies, & completely retreating on the missile defense plan in Europe.

"We trust that this award will strengthen his commitment, as the leader of the
most powerful nation in the world, to continue promoting peace and the
eradication of poverty," the foundation said.

What?! "Eradication of poverty?!" Have they even seen what he proposed as his budget?

We really do live on opposite planet.

Politics: "Obama adviser Van Jones resigns amid controverysy"

Awesome news:

Obama adviser Van Jones resigns amid controversy

WASHINGTON – President Barack Obama's adviser Van Jones has resigned amid controversy over past inflammatory statements, the White House said early Sunday.

Van Jones, an administration official specializing in environmentally friendly "green jobs," has been linked to efforts suggesting a government role in the Sept. 11 terror attacks and to derogatory comments about Republicans.
The matter surfaced after news reports of a derogatory comment Jones made in the past about Republicans, and separately, of Jones's name appearing on a petition connected to the events surrounding 2001 attacks on the World Trade Center in New York and the Pentagon.

Health Care: "HR 3200 'encroaches' on parental rights"

HR 3200 'encroaches' on parental rights
home schooling parent reading to childA spokesperson with the Independent Women's Forum is concerned that healthcare reform will limit parental rights.

Senior policy analyst Nicole Kurokawa is concerned that decisions concerning healthcare for children will be left up to a proposed Health Benefits Advisory Committee instead of parents. According to H.R. 3200, that committee will be responsible for setting recommendations for government-approved healthcare plans, which citizens will be forced to buy into, whether they be public or private.

Kurokawa is worried that under that approach, government officials could require that children receive all available vaccines -- even the controversial ones such as the HPV vaccine.

Politics: "White House Adviser Apologizes for Calling Republicans A--holes"

This man can say whatever he wants, the problem comes when the President of the United States would choose such a despicable, classless person to "advise" him. How can we not be surprised at the appalling stuff that comes out of the White House when he surrounds himself with such people?

White House Adviser Apologizes for Calling Republicans A--holes

Van Jones, the White House "green jobs" adviser, apologized yesterday for calling Republicans "a**holes," saying the comments were "clearly inappropriate" and were made before he joined the Obama administration. See FOX News.

Jones had told a group of listeners earlier in the year that the reason Republicans are stonewalling the president is because they're "a**holes," remarks that were recorded in a video and posted to YouTube.

"I apologize for the offensive words I chose to use during that speech," Jones said in a written statement to Politico. "They do not reflect the views of this administration, which has made every effort to work in a bipartisan fashion, and they do not reflect the experience I have had since I joined the administration."

Politics/Economics: "Obama repeats lie that 'all economists' agreed stim bill was necessary."

Obama repeats lie that 'all economists' agreed stim bill was necessary

Writing in the Weeky Standard Blog , Stephen Hayes points to Obama's interview in WaPo where he repeats, for the umpteenth time, the lie that "all economists" believed some kind of stimulus package was necessary to save us from a "Great Depression:
Right. Except for these 200, a list that included several Nobel laureates. What makes this fib by our president especially galling is that the content of the ad taken out by the Cato Institute that listed these economists. It began by correcting Obama's claim, on January 9, that "there is no disagreement that we need action by our government, a recovery plan that will help jumpstart the economy."
The economists wrote: "With all due respect, Mr. President, that is not true."
The president is not only a serial liar but when he's not lying he's exaggerating, like when he says that Republicans don't have any new ideas on what to do about the economy or health care.

Politics: How the White House spends money.

Gov paying over a half million dollars a pound for sliced ham?

According to Recovery.gov, the new Obama website showing us how much the country is being stimulated by government spending, the taxpayers are buying sliced frozen ham at $550,000 per pound. I wonder what they would pay for fresh ham?

Health Care: "Health Care 'Change' You Shouldn't Believe In"

Health Care ‘Change’ You Shouldn’t Believe In

While running for President, Barack Obama used the word “change” as his mantra. A lot of people thought he meant that in a good way.

They’re finding out they were wrong.

Recently, President Obama said one of the ways we (aka: the government) can cut back on health care costs is by denying medical care to old people. If you think that was heartless, check out the thoughts of Obama’s science czar. Apparently he’s for “forced abortions, mass sterilization, and a ‘Planetary Regime’ with the power of life and death over American citizens.”
This administration made a lot of promises it has broken.

When the government health care plans we already have are set to run out of money in a few years, there is no reason to assume this one would be any more efficient. Especially considering what a spendthrift Obama has been already.

The author went on to say:

"When the government has people dependent on a medical system it starts to treat them like property and tells them how to live. It also makes decisions on whether they live or die by telling them whether or not they will get an operation."

"The change Obama wants for America is fundamentally inhumane and dangerous. Real change begins next November when we clean house and start sending politicians home. Take away those who vote for his bills and he becomes a paper tiger with the words “One-Termer” on his forehead."

Obama Health Reform and Wait Times Visualization (In Lego!)

In 2006, Massachusetts passed health care reform that implemented a number of policies that are now being mirrored in the Obama health reform plan. The president has repeatedly claimed that his plan will lower health care costs but not decrease health care quality. This visualization looks at how the Massachusetts plan has panned out in terms of cost and wait times.
