The pro-Israel think-tank EMET, who had aided Yusef in his attempts to be granted asylum, said in a statement following Wednesday's ruling that they were "enormously grateful to all those who played a part in standing with Mosab during this time, and helping the Department of Homeland Security come to understand what a grave error deporting Mosab would have been."

A federal court has ruled that a New Jersey teen should not have been prevented from taking part in the national Pro-life Day of Silent Solidarity.

The Bridgeton High School student was not allowed to distribute pro-life literature during non-instructional times or wear a red armband bearing the word "Life." School officials told her that public schools allowed nothing "religious."

David Cortman, senior legal counsel with the Alliance Defense Fund, said the ruling provides vital protection for free speech.

"When a student attends a public school, he or she retains their First Amendment rights, and that also pertains to religious speech," he said. "This particular school has the highest teen pregnancy rate in the state, and the highest teenage abortion rate in the state, and this young lady was being a faithful witness."

Hospital chaplain's free-speech rights restored

A chaplain at a Michigan veterans' hospital has been invited to return and minister to patients.

Martin Colburn, a Christian chaplain of two veterans' organizations, had been meeting patients who gave him permission to do so, counseling them and praying with them. Daniel Blomberg is an attorney with the Alliance Defense Fund (ADF).

"One day back in February he was just summarily thrown out of the hospital because he had a Bible in his hand and he had been meeting with a patient," Blomberg explains. "And on February 13, he received a letter saying he wasn't welcome to come back except to receive his own veteran's benefits because he was a wounded warrior himself."

Court rules against Carrollton couple, affirms Texas schools' moment of silence law

A federal appeals court on Monday upheld a Texas law that requires public school students to observe a daily minute of silence in order to pray, reflect or otherwise remain quiet.

A three-judge panel from the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in New Orleans affirmed a district court ruling, saying the law is constitutional because it expressly allows for any silent use of the period, either religious or nonreligious.

David and Shannon Croft sued on behalf of their three children, who are enrolled in the Carrollton-Farmers Branch Independent School District. The suburban Dallas couple contended that including the word "pray" in the mandatory moment of silence law was a way for lawmakers to advance religion in schools.

The Crofts sued after they said an elementary teacher told one of their children to keep quiet because the minute is a "time for prayer."

Good News: Evel Knievel's conversion to Christianity

One of those people was Evel Knievel, the motorcycle daredevil who died in November 2007. Earlier that spring, Knievel called Strobel after a friend gave him a copy of The Case for Christ. Knievel said the book was instrumental in his conversion from atheism to Christianity. Strobel, a motorcycle fanatic since childhood, and Knievel became friends, speaking weekly over the telephone.

"He just transformed in amazing ways," Strobel says. "I know his last interview was with a macho men's magazine, and he broke down crying, talking about his newfound relationship with Christ. He was so grateful. He knew he had lived a very immoral life and regretted that. He told me many times how he wished he could live his life over for God, and yet God reached down in his last days and dragged him into the kingdom. He was so overwhelmed by God's grace. Here was this macho daredevil who became this humble, loving, and sincere follower of Jesus. It was an amazing thing to behold."

Korn bassist Reginald "Fieldy" Arvizu has found faith, according to the product page for a new HarperCollins book releasing March 10. Got the Life: My Journey of Addiction, Faith, Recovery, and Korn, which is being described as "the ultimate story of rock and redemption," details how Fieldy came to terms with the faith of his father, a Christian, when he died of a mysterious illness. A book tour is currently in the works for various California stops around the time of the hardback's release. Fieldy is the second Korn member after Brian "Head" Welch to find Christianity.

Good News: Nurse risks life & limb for another

Nurse walked nine miles through snow two days in a row to save kidney dialysis patient

Outside, a blizzard was blowing and the snow was 14 inches deep.

She dug out her walking boots - and trudged nine miles through the snow to save the life of a patient.

In treacherous conditions and with temperatures plunging to - 2c, the 49-year-old made the arduous journey to help Steph Crawford, who could have died without dialysis treatment.

She was unable to drive to her usual dialysis centre in Kingston, South-West London, because of the snow, and ambulances could not reach her. Without treatment, she would have struggled to breathe as fluid builds up around her lungs. This can ultimately prove fatal.

When she called Mrs Noble in desperation on Monday last week, the renal nurse, who was on a day off, immediately set out from her home in Ashtead, Surrey, four and a half miles away.

Mrs Crawford added: 'After she got it working she then walked all the way home - and then did it all again the next day.

When all you hear is negative, it is refreshing to hear of personal sacrifice on behalf of another.
